Past Projects:
Small Business Innovative Research Awards
Phase I and Phase II SBIR awards, “Destruction of Chemical and Biological Agents in Water by Hybrid Gas-Liquid High Voltage Electrical Discharge Reactors” funded by U.S. Department of Defense, Army Corps of Engineers, Construction Engineering Research Laboratory, Champaign IL. Design and build prototype treatment system for countermeasure for chemical and biological threats to drinking water.
Principal Subcontractor to a SBIR Phase II award, under our former name JCM Environmental, “A High Efficiency Reactor for Biological Waste Water Processing” (96-2-16.08-0017JSC, 1996) for NASA, to design a photo-catalytic reactor for wastewater cleanup on the International Space Station. All the theoretical modeling (both chemical and reactor), conceptual design, catalyst manufacture and preliminary testing for this reactor were performed by Vesitech, Inc. Prime Contractor, Lynntech, Inc. of College Station, TX.
Principal subcontractor Phase II award entitled “Advanced Ozonation of Organics” for U.S. Department of Defense, U.S. Air Force. Vesitech, under our former name, JCM Environmental, provided the column design and all the hydrodynamic, reactor, and chemical kinetic modeling to support a successful scale-up of a small batch advanced ozone reactor to a 50 gpm pilot plant. Prime Contractor Lynntech, Inc. of College Station, TX.
Data Assessment and Review
Subcontractor for the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) Design Institute for Physical Property Research (DIPPR) Project 911 entitled “Environmental, Safety, and Health Data Compilation.” Vesitech principals collaborated with Michigan Technological University researchers to provide a computerized database of 32 physical properties for 450 chemical compounds of environmental interest.
Prime Contractor for American Chemistry Council to evaluate the physical property data used by the Environmental Protection Agency as part of the regulation of VOC emissions from waste water streams in a collaboration with Michigan Technological University researchers.

Strategic Relationships
Vesitech has formed strategic relationships with other small businesses in academics. Vesitech has provided reaction modeling support services for Lynntech, Inc. of College Station, TX, and with Zin Technologies of Brook Park, OH. In both cases, the small businesses have had a need for the expert modeling to help fulfill technical objectives for projects for treatment systems. Vesitech was responsible for creating the reactor modeling and Lynntech or Zin Technologies were responsible for conducting the necessary experiments to validate the model and to construct the treatment systems. With the addition of laboratory space, Vesitech can now conduct validation studies as well as the modeling work.
The company also has forged strong alliances with scientific experts in academics. The company is working with Dr. Bruce Locke from Florida State University to commercialize a patented technology for water treatment under contract with the Army Corps of Engineers. Dr. Locke is an expert in pulsed corona technology and holds the patent for aspects of pulsed corona in water. In this alliance, Vesitech will provide the reactor design experience, build and test a laboratory scale system, and oversee construction of a prototype unit. Vesitech has contracted with Membrane Processing Controls, a custom design/build engineering firm in Wisconsin to construct the prototype water treatment system. This firm is a possible manufacturer of our water treatment technologies.
The company has also hired chemical and environmental engineering professors from Michigan Technological University on specific projects. Vesitech’s ability to work with leading scientists in the field, and to understand and communicate highly technical information, is an important factor in its reputation for providing high value scientific assessments.
